Are you interested in racing around a track shaped in a figure eight with numerous other vehicles with
the occasional bump and grind? Crossing in front of another competitor while cruising through the
criss cross? Who'll back down, you or the other racer? This is an economical way to get out and have
tons of fun! Hook up with a cheap stock car and add the safety equipment required and burn around
the dreaded figure eight track at the World of F.E.A.R.


RULES AND REGULATIONS


A word of warning to Figure 8 stock car builders!! These Figure 8 rules are specifically designed to
keep the cost of purchasing and preparing a competitive car as low as possible. Money spent on a
Figure 8 stock car should be used to make the car safer - not faster. Any attempts to "bend" these
rules or find and take advantage of a "loophole" will not be tolerated. If your car is not inside these
rules, your car WILL NOT RACE! Final decisions on anything and everything are at the discretion of
the World of F.E.A.R. tech officials and race director. We want to be as fair and impartial as can be,
but most of all we want all of you racers to have FUN!!!

COMPETING MODELS
1962 to present year automobiles, with trucks and minis to run in their own separate designated class.

BODIES
1. Absolutely no gutting of car metal permitted. This includes hood, trunk, door skins, quarter panels,
and roof with the only exception being front inner fenders.
2. Bodies must be stock and retain properly secured metal hoods, trunk lids, fenders and doors.
3. Headlights and tail lights must be removed and if covered, metal not to exceed 20 gauge.
4. Antenna and stock outside mirror must be removed.
5. All upholstery and flammable material must be removed with the drivers seat being the only exception.
6. All cars must be brightly painted and be neat in appearance. (at least for the first race!!)

FIREWALLS AND FLOORBOARDS
1. All cars shall have complete stock floorboards in drivers area, sealed from gas tank and engine compartment.
2. Front stock firewall required with all holes covered with minimum 22 gauge sheet metal. Rear firewall must be installed at rear shelf with minimum 22 gauge sheet metal. No aluminum firewalls allowed.

WINDSHIELDS, REAR AND SIDE WINDOWS
1. Full front windshield required. If stock safety glass in not used, minimum of 1/8 lexan or equilvalent required. No plexiglass.
2. Sunroof opening must be replaced with solid metal 22 gauge sheet metal minimum. No aluminum.
3. Window net MANDANTORY on drivers side window.
4. Side and rear windows must be removed and cannot be replaced by anything.

DOORS
1. Doors must be securely fixed in closed position by either bolting or welding.
2. Inside of drivers door should be padded.

SIDE PROTECTION BARS
1. If car has no cage, a minimum of 1 (one) driver side protection bar must be installed on the exterior of the car. Bar must be a minimum of 6" channel steel 3/16 thick. Channel must run from 6" behind front wheel well to 6" in front of rear wheel well.
2. One roll over bar mandantory. Must be located behind the driver. Minimum 13/4' x .095 wall thickness with a 6" x 6" x 1/4" plate welded to the top and bottom. Must be welded or bolted to roof and floor.
3. Rollcage is optional, but may be added following rollcage rules and diagrams. If cage is installed, exterior protection bars are not mandantory, but are strongly recommended.

HOODS AND TRUNK LIDS
1. Hoods and trunks must be held closed in a secure manner with quick release (i.e. hood pins or seat belts).
2. Stock hinges must be retained on hood and trunk.
3. Hoods are required at all times and must be in place at start of race.

BUMPERS
1. Single front and rear bumpers are mandantory, must be stock for make and model of car or truck.
2. One piece of pipe up to 48"long, 2" x 1/8" thick, half on each side of the centre line of the vehicle may be added behind the bumper. This pipe may be attached to the bumper or bumper brackets only. This device is used as radiator protection only and not as a ramming device.

BRAKES
1. Four wheel hydraulic brakes with steel lines mandantory, and all must work. No after market units will be accepted.

BATTERY
1. Batteries not in stock position must be relocated to drivers compartment, but must be securely fastened by steel straps and contained in a marine type or other suitable battery box. One battery only per vehicle.
2. No batteries in trunk.
3. All cars must start with a starter at the beginning of the program.

RADIATORS
1. One radiator only.
2. Any size radiator for car or truck may be used as long as there are no holes in the hood. Radiator must be located in front of engine between frame rails.
3. Radiator cap must be of the safety pressure release kind.
4. Water only. No ethylene glycol coolants permitted.

GAS TANKS
1. All gas tanks must be located in trunk area as far forward as possible and must be fastened by steel straps. Minis will be delt with on a case by case basis.
2. Under no circumstances are tanks, fuel lines or other fuel containers permitted in the drivers compartment.
3. Boat tanks are allowed, but must be securely fastened.

SEATS
1. Bucket seats only. No bench seats permitted. Aluminum or steel reinforced fiberglass seats recommended.
2. Seat must be securely mounted at floor and should be mounted to roll over bar at rear.

SEAT BELTS
1. Minimum 4 point safety approved harness must be worn. No stock seatbelts. Harness must be in good shape with quick release.
2. All belts must be securely fastened to frame or cage, not to seat.

HELMETS
1. Helmets are mandantory and must be tech approved.

ENGINES
1. Must be for vehicle being raced (i.e. chevy car must have chevy engine, not ford).
2. Any type of porting or grinding permitted.
3. No restrictions on engine modifications.

REAR ENDS
1. Welded rear ends and mini spools allowed.
2. Changing of gear ratios allowed.

SUSPENSION
1. Suspension must remain stock. This means springs, shock absorbers and sway bars.
2. No racing springs or shocks will be allowed.
3. No traction bars permitted.

TIRES AND WHEELS
1. The wheels of the car must be stock passenger steel wheels.
2. Racing wheels allowed. Steel white spoke truck wheels allowed.
3. Maximum rim width 7".
4. Must be street D.O.T. approved tires. No racing D.O.T. tires, HR, VR and ZR rated tires permitted.
5. No studded tires permitted.

NUMBERS
1. Each car should be clearly numbered on both sides and on the roof. The roof number should be viewed from the passenger side.
2. No three (3) digit numbers.
3. Numbers may be reserved prior to season opener by contacting tech officials.

SAFETY
1. A minimum of long sleeved coveralls to be worn by all drivers when on the track.
2. No shorts or tank tops allowed in pit area.
3. All competitors must have a portable fire extinguisher, with a minimum 10 BC rating , visible in the pit area at all times during the event.
4. Anyone found in the pits under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the event, will be escorted from the property and banned from the track.
5. ABSOLUTELY no open liquor permitted in the pit area while cars are hot (One (1) hour prior to race time until the event is over). Failure to comply, by competitors or their pit crew, may result in their entry being disqualified or suspended from racing at World of F.E.A.R.
6. ABSOLUTLEY no children under the age of 14 allowed in pit area.
7. All drivers and pit persons must sign a waiver prior to race time.
8. Parents or guardians of children aged 14 to 17 must sign a waiver along with the child.
