Legal Mumbo Jumbo

And now for the perfunctory, but necessary, legalese...

1. Most important... THIS SITE IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. If you ask a joke question and get a joke answer, you expect tha and everything is cool. However, if you ask a real question, odds are you'll get a real answer, albeit a humorous one. Whether you decide to follow that advice or not is solely your responsibility and the consequences are totally up to you.

2. This site contains a few little things I like to refer to as "parody," "satire," and "irony." Except for Smudge, for obvious reasons, the things said on this site in no way reflect the beliefs and/or opinions of the actual character. Fred Rogers, for instance, is a loveable children's show host, and would never swear out Darth Vader like that. It's worth mentioning, however, that the rumor about him is not just made up. There really is a rumor circling about him and Vietnam. Sometimes art imitates life, and sometimes life imitates art.

3. If you're offended by this... Good. You have that right. This is a free country, after all. Tell me how offended you are and maybe I'll post it.

4. As stated earlier, this site contains parody and satire. Before crying slander, realize that this is written so it would be libel. Furthermore, realize that parody and satire are legally protected under the first ammendment if what is said is not a blatant and baldfaced lie, ie: libel. But before you go any further, first realize that this is a joke. It's meant to be funny. And while it often falls short of that, just take it as it is intended.

5. I'm using other people's intellectual property for parody. Corporate Big Wigs of the world-- recall the words of that bastard Joey Buttafucco: There's no such thing as bad publicity.

6. An excerpt from the Fair Use Clause of US Copywrite Law:

The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; The nature of the copyrighted work; The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; The effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

As this site is non-commercial, smoewhat educational, very small amount compared to original work (one [at most] 150x150 pixel image from a game that consisted of thousands of larger images), and has little to no impact upon the respective original works, I am in compliance with the law. So there.
