MOM WITH LOVE

Mom you have given so much of yourself to
Your twelve children in all. Eight you had
And then four step children, not to mention
All our friends that you called yours too.

Mom you have had a very hard life, this I,
Have seen, you lost your Husband at a very
Young age. Then you remarried and life was
Starting to look up for you. Now all your
Children are grown and this is to be your
Time and your golden years, but you have
Been robbed of that.

Mom this Alzhiemers that has entered your
Body has taken all your freedom away from
You. I know you are my Mother when I look
At you. Because you look like her, But when
I watch you, listen to you, and see all the
Things my Mom did that you can no longer do
It breaks my heart in two. Then I sit back
And just wonder where did my Mom go. This
Lady before me now is not my Mom someone else
Is in her body.

I know its getting closer to where you will
No longer be able to do anything for yourself
And really hurts me to see this Lady like this
I know this is not the real you, You were so
Independent never counted on anyone to do
Anything for you. And now you have to depend
On everyone to do for you.

Mom I just want you to know that I will try my
Best to make you that proud Lady you have always
Been in my eyes. I will try to do whatever I
Can do for you, to make your life easier for you
No mater what that might be, giving you your
Shower, dressing you, feeding you if that is
Needed.

Mom if I had to do it all over again I would
And be proud of myself for doing it also.
Mom I will know in my heart of hearts that I
Did all I could to make you comfortable untill
The end of your time. And in time I hope that
This tribute to you will help me thru the
Hardest of times and give comfort to the rest
Of your Family also. We Love you MOM.
