1972 Chevy C10

bought in June 1993 for $850 with under 160,000 miles
The truck in December 1998.
With the original 350 and stock tuning this truck got about 8-9 mpg city and up to 15 mpg highway.
The 350 ci engine was rebuilt cheaply at 160,800 miles (I have learned that it is better to spend a little extra for quality.)
RV cam, HEI ignition, 4 core radiator, quadrajet carb, headers, dual exhaust
With stock tuning this setup got 8-9 mpg city and 12 mpg highway.
With the timing advanced it got around 9-11 mpg city and up to 13 mpg city.
The TH350 transmission was rebuilt at 167,500, and again at 197,000 miles because of a bad torque converter.
A 700R4 overdrive transmission was installed at 208,500 miles.
The cheap rebuild wore out in only 50,000 miles, so in February 2003 I took the GM Goodwrench universal engine out of my Nova and put it in my truck. It already had about 20,000 miles on it, but it is of much better quality than the rebuild and should last longer.
This setup normally gets 11-14 mpg and a high of 16 mpg, highway gas mileage is unknown.
A deer ran into the side of my truck as I was driving along early in the morning January 2004.
The truck in June 2004, with 216,660 miles.
It has about 223,000 miles as of July 2006
