Interview with Ward Kimball, producer of Disney's Space series The decade of the 1950's was, among other things, known for its public fascination with Outer Space. This interest was, at first, limited to science fiction books and magazines, monster movies and children's television. By the end of the 50's, the space race with the Soviets had begun and much science fiction had become fact. America's growing acceptance of space travel as a serious possibility was greatly influenced by Walt Disney and his team of creative artists. The first "Tomorrowland" television shows created a sensation which ultimately reached the White House and the Pentagon. We are very proud to feature a conversation on this topic with the man who initiated, produced and directed these films...Disney's foremost "man in space", Ward Kimball.
