Hey Shadows!

Well, the Regimental Show has come and gone, and Troop K won 5th Place in the overall and took 1st Place with Inspection. We are so proud of 2nd Lt. Andrea Andersen for receiving the "Kathryn Long Award" which she deserved very much!  Congratulations to our 1st Sgt. Laura Williams for placing 6th and Plt. Sgt. Shawna LeDoux for placing 8th in equitation; you make us proud to follow you.  For Corporal's Equitation, me and myself and I, Cristella Villasenor took 8th Place. We also would like to congratulate TFC Candice Torrez on her 1st Place Ribbon and TFC Carina Villasenor on her 7th Place in TFCs Equitation.  Congrats to all the troops that competed, you all worked hard and did a great job!!! We look forward to seeing you next year at the 2004 Regimental Show!   

Watch Out Troops!  We will back next year and hope to "Take Home the Blue"!!!

The Wednesday night after the show, Troop K always has their game night, where we play games on horseback like the "One Boot Relay Race" which looks more like a ride, jump, hop, fumble with your boot (or snag Captain Steele's boot) and attempt to drag your horse across the arena!!!! We played the egg on the spoon game, had a scavenger hunt at the stables, and ate lots of pizza, soda and goodies.  It was a fun time for all!!! Thanks to TFC Carina Villasenor and TFC Candice Torrez and her mom Carla for making it happen.

We have some birthdays to remember; 1st Lt. Breanna Fone on June 12th and 2nd Lt. Andrea Andersen on June 13th.  Happy Birthday to our officers (not getting older, just better)!!!

Now that summer is here, I hope all of you have a great time, full of fun & sun (don't forget the sunscreen!) and lots of happy times on the trail!!!  Till we meet again…
