Now, as far
as classics go, let's talk frachise. Before
Nightmare, before Child's Play, before
Hellraiser, but noticably after Halloween,
there was Friday the 13th. The not so
original but still great initial film that
managed to actually successfully leave itself
open for a sequel, Friday is the
campfire-esque tale of camp counselors
re-opening a camp locally referred to as Camp
Blood, for some murders that went on there
previously, then facing many bloody ends
themselves. No one denies that this one
cleared the way for many after it- the
effects, plotline and character development
have been copied many times over. And,
actually, Friday is good entertaining
genre-endulgent fun. I look at it in a
seperate way from it's many sequels- but of
course if you see one you gotta see a few
more. It just wouldn't be kosher to see only
one. If you wanna rent this one and maybe two
sequels, but don't know which ones to rent, I
suggest 2 and 7. Follow me for a minute- 2
starts Jason's slashing career and actually
weighs up as one of the better sequels, and 7
really gives a feel for the rest of the
series. And, if you liked those, they should
gear you up for Jason Goes to Hell, the last
installment thusfar (skip 8 altogether, you
ain't missin' nothin'!) which doesn't end up
being that bad, either. But if you're a real
critic (chuckle) the first one will suit you
best. I personally really dig it- I
recommended it, didn't I? If you want to know
