Riddle me
this: How does a movies like Scream
(mystery), Army of Darkness (comedy), or
Dead-Alive (stupidity) make it into your
horror section, but Arachnophobia, truly one
of the scariest films ever, land in comedy?
I'll never understand those folks at
Blockbuster. Arachnophobia is, to anyone
afraid of spiders (like myself), a nightmare
of a film that will make you uncomfortable to
eat, sleep, or take a shower in your own
house for days. It's a well put together
horror even if you aren't afraid of the
little eight-legged devils. It's about a
Venezualin giant spider that travels in the
corpse of one of it's victims back to
America, namely Camainia, California. The new
doctor in town (Daniels) is afraid of
spiders. The giant nest is in his barn. Ahhh!
Spiders drape the walls and come up from the
sinks in the climax- but even before then
they are in the popcorn, the lamp, and the
shower. Ahhhhhhh! This movie is so freaky!
Rent it, even if you aren't afraid of
spiders, and see if you are afterwards. The
ending seems like it's set up for a sequel-
I'm still waiting!
