Ano... There is no excuse for this thing, really. While I was writing 'Torn,' I had this idea for this great scene involving Heero and the wall... but I couldn't find any way to work it in, since the story was told from Quatre's POV and Quatre wasn't there for this. So I just wrote into blank verse and stuck it in as a side story.Chronologically, this scene takes place after 'Break' but before 'Torn' opens. In the arc, it goes between part 5 and part 6 of 'Torn.' It involves mild blood and less-mild angst. Enjoy. ^^;
Side story: Judas
He wakes
slowly, coming out of the darkness
into his body, his body, not
someone else's body, even if he's
sharing time
with the man he loved who is dead.
He's almost getting used to it almost
getting used to it almost feels his
lover's presence linger when he wakes.v
Something is wrong this time
when he comes slowly out of the darkness
something is wrong his arm hurts, why
he hadn't hurt it lately hadn't been
hurt on the last mission, so
what had happened to him
what happened to his body when he wasn't there he
looks down his arm afraid of what
he sees the red line slash
down his wrist, not bleeding any more but
it still hurts he didn't put that there who
why did you do that, duo?
Raises his eyes blurry how much
blood did he lose when he sees the laptop
it isn't one any more, it's broken
the screen is smashed and the wires
insides ripped out and dangling don't think
it can be fixed but he needs it
laptop was his strength when the other went away
why did you do that duo?
Lifts his head a little higher and he sees
the wall
and
what's on it
and he doesn't
have to ask why any more
because the wall tells him so
in letters five inches tall.
Written in blood
(because there wasn't anything else to use)
jagged piece of metal that he used to slit his wrists
(because there wasn't anything else to use)
pins a butterfly of papers to the wall;
Those papers printed from that laptop
his damnation
he doesn't have to read them
he knows what they say
it's the same thing the words on the wall say
And he's shaking.
(must be the blood loss)
he falls down from the pain blood fire blackness
comes back quickly this time
but it keeps the pain
and the writing on the wall.
