Sunsets on an endless sky
Why do we try in the darkness of night?
Sometimes I see
Things that you can't dream in the darkest of shadows

Spooks and haunts dance about and loom
But I'm safe in the recesses of my room
Pounding Crashing on the frame
Tempting the sanity of my brain

Chasing me forever down the halls
Silently crawling on the walls
Strangling me in my sleep
The gurgling blood in my throat still seeps

As the night continues on
The barriers fall one by one
As they claw at my brain
Insanity threatens and consumes me

And the shadows turn to dreams
As the sun rises in the east
A ray of light drives them away
Into the darkness of my brain

I lay and breathe waiting
Knowing they'll be back
It's just a matter of time
Before the sun sets on an endless deep blue sky
