Today my little angel did something amazing...she donated 10.5 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.  : This is a nonprofit organization that takes donated hair and creates wigs for children with cancer.  Amanda had heard about this before and said that she wanted to grow her hair so she could donate it to a child with cancer.   About a month leading up to today’s appointment, Amanda kept asking me to measure her hair everyday...she was quite anxious to donate her hair.

Two days prior to today’s appointment, while I was brushing her ridiculously gorgeous mane, I said, “Are you sure you still want to cut your hair?   You realize it’s going to be really short, right?”   And she said, “Yes, mommy, I do.   I’m lucky.”   Wow...her sacrificial heart quickly humbled the vanity that was in my own heart.

So, off we went today...to cut off 10.5 inches of her beautiful blonde locks.  She is radiant with her short new ‘do,’ but even more beauty is radiating from her heart.  I feel so blessed to have been given a beautiful, thoughtful and HEALTHY little girl!
