The Kingdom Of God
O Father, when everyone turns his back on you
and thinks only of his own plans and not yours,
when all is blackest,
help us to know, more surely than day follows night,
that your kingdom will come.
Help us to remember that deep inside all of us
lies the living plan for your kingdom,
ready to unfold and grow.
God, help us to search out this kingdom,
to learn its ways and to call you king.
Help us not just to hope for its coming
but to work for it in thanksgiving
and live it with joy.
