Hi, my name is Jack Miller. I hope to offer you some insight as to the body mechanics, and more importantly, how to properly develop these vital body mechanics in providing a consistent and more powerful game play. Through my methods you will learn proper breathing, body control, body movement, and how to apply these methods to your Table Tennis game to achieve maximum power and speed as a foundation for high level match play.
I have been playing Table Tennis club play for over 32 years (Since 1968). As a kid (13 yrs old), there was a Karate class being taught next to our Table Tennis club. I noticed the exact same body actions and stances in Karate as in Table Tennis - except much faster, more powerful, and more stable. Thus, later in my years, I decided to take up Karate to improve my Table Tennis technique. I studied Karate for 17 years under a world famous Karate instructor (Hidetaka Nishiyama) and also had the opportunity to train with Karate teams from around the world. This high level training has provided me with an insight and training methods to achieve speed and power I have never experienced before in my life, and with amazing stability! I have been utilizing these techniques for years in my Table Tennis game play. I am getting older now, and have too many sore bones to continue with high level Karate. However, I have been focusing more of my time to promoting these concepts as to how they apply to Table Tennis. In a sentence, it's time to pass on to you what I have learned! I'm sure you will benefit from these methods.
To benefit the most from these methods, you must participate. Here are a few tips to help you:
Do the exercises as you read.
Practice them very slowly to understand the mechanics, then practice them as fast as you possibly can.
Remember to always Breathe!
Take a section at a time and practice them at least twice a week for a minimum of 10 minutes away from the table. Then 30 minutes at the Table and apply these methods to your favorite shots.
Practice each section until you have trained your body, not your mind, to do these techniques naturally (that means without thinking). Then move on to the next section.
Be sure to do general stretching before and after you practice these methods.
Above all, have fun with them...
