Star Wars Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones
I have heard a lot about Episode 2, including that it isn't very good. Well, it is
true and it isn't true.
The story picks up about 10 years after Episode 1, The Phantom Menace. Anakin Skywalker
has grown into a sulky young man, but his powers in the force have grown. He is
still being trained by Obi Wan Kenobi.
Obi Wan is assigned to protect Senator Armidala and Anakin helps him in that job.
However, Obi Wan Kenobi must go on a mission for the Jedi Council and it is up to
Anakin to protect the Senator. Yes, it's Padme from the first movie and apparently
Anakin hasn't forgotten about her. He's in love with her. To protect her, he takes her on
a quest to find his mother.
There are many battles, and fights, some of them very good ones, although one that
was quite interesting was the one with Yoda! At the time I enjoyed the novelty of
the fight, but afterward I found myself questioning the logic of the fight. Yoda
in a fight? Hmm.
The movie worked for me, because it didn't stop for very long, or take itself seriously.
I'll be interested to see the next installment. I give it *** stars on the Stellastarstruck
Scale.
Cast includes - Ewan McGregor, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman,
Ian McDiarmid and Jimmy Smitts.
