December 15, 2007 - Saturday

Rain, clear, snow, and thunder and lightning. A real mixture.

This morning things finally blew over. Whew! We had breakfast together at Gusto before I went to work. Things were cold, but thawing.

Work was fine today. I discovered when I went to bed that one class today was cancelling, so I wasn't too busy. I still had two others though. The classes seemed to go quite well. I enjoyed them anyway.

After I finished, Fumihiko picked me up. We decided to go for dinner and Fumihiko chose Bistrot de Ponts, my favourite French restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner there. The restaurant was quite busy for a change. There was a big group of people next to us, and two other small tables. What did we eat? We had calpacchio, salad with scallops, then pumpkin soup (me) or cabbage and bacon soup (Fumihiko). Our main course was Shonai pork saute with mushroom sauce. We live in Shonai, so this is local food. It was amazing. Then, for dessert we had baked apple with a topping of caramel ice cream. Simple, but very very good.

We went to the mall after dinner to have a look around. I wanted to get Fumihiko his Christmas present. So, we looked around. I tried to find something that he would like. We found a nice casual jacket that he tried on and it fitted well, but then he said he already had a lot of jackets. We looked at a few other things, but he wasn't interested. Then we went to Uniqlo. There wasn't too much. He was a little interested in the room wear but didn't like the colour. He tried on a pair of pants...nylon-y with a fleecy lining. He tried them on over his jeans. I don't know why. They were okay, but ultimately he didn't like them. Sigh. I told him I'll have to go back to the mall and go shopping without him! I'll buy him something that _I_ like. If he doesn't like it, too bad!

We came back to Tsuruoka. The weather was really bad on the way home. There was a big snow storm and it was a bit nasty. Back in Tsuruoka it wasn't bad at all though.

At home we watched my regular Saturday night programs...CSI: Miami, and Grey's Anatomy. Sadly, Cold Case wasn't on, but a repeat of Criminal Minds was. It was good to see again.

And that was my day. It was much better than the last couple were! Tomorrow I'm not sure what'll happen. I may do some shopping, or I may not.
