October 9, 2007 - Tuesday

Warm and sunny.

An okay day, finally. This morning Fumihiko got up to go for work, but couldn't find his keys. Usually he is very quiet and I sometimes don't even know that he's left, but this morning there was a great overturning of things and wailing...even chest beating and teeth gnashing! I got up to help him find his keys. He finally found them and didn't even apologize for waking me, or thank me for helping him.

I got up, had a cup of coffee and then went back to bed! I slept for a while then got up. I had a quiet afternoon at home. I did get a phone call that I had to use all the Japanese that I know for! I was expecting a delivery and the delivery company phoned to check my address and that I was at home. Luckily the package arrived a little before I had to leave for work.

Work was quite good today. When I got there today I vacuumed the school and got ready for work. I reviewed what I was going to teach, then when my students came, I taught it. Things went well. After my last class I did my dishes and then called Fumihiko to come and get me. He didn't answer. He called me back a few minutes later and then picked me up after a bit.

We went home via the grocery store. Fumihiko didn't have time to go earlier. While I was in the store I saw one of my ex-ex-students from my Eikaiwa days...an ex-student that I didn't like. I decided to skulk around the store to avoid him. I had a couple of close calls and I probably looked right daft, but I don't care! I really didn't want to meet up with him again. He wasn't the worst student I've ever had, but he was annoying.

We came home and Fumihiko made a nabe for us. He put the fish that we caught the other night, and set the table too. He worked really hard for us. Unfortunately for me, I was in a non-fishy mood, so I mainly ate the tofu and mushrooms and pork. Afterwards, he took a bath and I did the dishes.

That's about it for my day. It turned out better than it started!
