May 20, 2007 - Sunday

Cloudy and rainy all day.

A pretty good day. I didn't go to bed until very very late last night, so I didn't hear Fumihiko leave this morning. I did hear him come back though. He came back to bed for a cuddle, but wouldn't you know it, his mother called him and he had to leave. Gombei the dog had something wrong with his eye. It was watering and he was trying to scratch it. Being Sunday, Fumihiko's vet wasn't open, so he promised to take him tomorrow night.

When hubby came home again, I was sleeping yet again. This time Fumihiko put on Rocky 2 and was watching that. I dragged myself out of bed and got out the guacamole I'd made yesterday and some corn chips. We had some of that, and watched the movie. Finally, we left to go out for food.

We hit the Post Office first to see what I got. Fumihiko told me late last night that there was a note from the post office for me. It turns out that I got a box from my sister. She'd sent me fabric softener balls! When I did laundry at her place I used one and it was really helpful. You put the fabric softener in the ball, close it, and toss it in the washing machine. That's it. Here I always stop the washing machine before the last rinse and put it in. Now I won't have too. Yay. I also got a bunch of my bank statements and such. Fun! Not.

We had lunch at Jiro, then went to an electronics shop. I wanted to get more ink cartridges for my school's printer. While I was there, I got a "thank you" prize for buying stuff. I got a nice little teapot. I think I'll take it over to the school. My students can use it if they want. I don't use loose tea there, so it won't be hard to clean up!

We came home and vegged for a while. I sent Fumihiko off to walk his dog again. He came back and said that his dog was much better now. Hubby had washed his eye the first time he was there and it seemed to help.

We went off to karaoke for a couple of hours. That was fun, but I have the feeling that we overdid it. I was feeling the difference in my lungs after an hour. Still...after a break of over a month, I was glad to get back to the important business of singing. My first song of the day was a Dixie Chicks one,"Not Ready To Make Nice". It was cool. I really like that song so I was glad to find it. I did a bunch of standards for me, and hubby did his standards. I tried not to do anything too taxing vocally. I'm not a great singer by any means, I just like to have fun.

When our time was up, we headed out to Mikawa and went to Cocos for dinner. It was okay, but there were a bunch of kids sitting by themselves and they were using the drink bar to taste everything. One of them left a huge mess of tea leaves by the side of the sink and they were running around and making noise. At one point I got a "haro" from one of them, but I ignored him. There was a parent apparently who came and poked her head in once in a while, but it wasn't enough. And yet, behind their table was another group of kids, slightly older, that were acting fine. They all seemed to know each other, so I'm not sure exactly why one group was bad and one was good. Thankfully they left and we could continue our meal in peace!

We headed over to the mall and parked. I got hubby to go to the Jusco grocery store with me to grab some sunflower seeds, then we headed off to the theater. Tonight we went to see An Inconvenient Truth at an inconvenient time. 9:40 at night on a Sunday? We missed the earlier shows...one was at 2 something in the afternoon... Anyway, I loved the film. I always had a soft spot for Al Gore and the fact that he uses an Apple Computer too endears him even further to me! I thought it was very interesting and some of his points and illustrations were chilling. I don't think Fumihiko liked it as much as I did. He spent a goodly part of the movie with his eyes closed...and got mad when I nudged him. He was also breathing heavilly which I found distracting. I almost got up and moved away from him, but didn't! He told me later that his eyes were sore and he wasn't feeling too well.

We drove home after the film and Fumihiko fell asleep on the couch. I prepared coffee for his morning then started working on my computer stuff. He's back at work tomorrow. I'm not sure what I'll do exactly, but I think I'll do a spot of cleaning up. My mound of stuff in the corner has avalanched all over and I NEED to clean it up!

And that was my day. We had two quite busy days this weekend so I'm looking forward to a quieter day before I go back to work. I hope I can grab a cappucino or something tomorrow!

Night.
