Sunny and warm day.
Oh my gosh, it's so late right now that I should be in bed sleeping. The weird thing. My hubby is still up too. He's been working on translations for me all day. I feel sorry for him because he got up before I did and started working on his "wordpro". Sometimes it didn't go well and he was angry. He's been asking me little points about English all day. It's interesting, but I worry about him.
I got up before 10 today, and tried to watch news but it wasn't on. Baseball was .Blech. After some quality computer time I cooked breakfast and then we headed over to the apartment.
We were expecting a delivery of a whiteboard today. We had been told that it could arrive anytime between 1 and 5, so we decided to be at the apartment then. I had invited my friend Shimi to come and be the first visitor at the school, so I wanted it to look extra nice. When I got to the school, I realized I'd forgotten my sweeper for the floor. Yikes. Fumihiko went and got it, plus some cleaning equipment. He came back and was going to get back to work with his wordpro, when he realized he didn't have an extension cord. He went back home to get one, and of course, that's when the delivery guy came! It was fine though. The man unwrapped the board just outside his truck and then brought it up to the door. I rolled it into the classroom. I gave him the paper I had to sign and then he left. Fumihiko called just after that, and of course the guy came back with two small parts of the board that he forgot to give me! Confusing.
Fumihiko came back later and got to work. I did too. I put all the classroom English signs that I had made onto coloured paper. Around 2, Shimi called. She was actually just out side the apartment and was checking if she was in the right place. She was. We had a nice visit and then she had to leave.
After she left, I finished what I was doing and even put up a couple of the signs. They looked good. Around 5:30 I suggested going out to the post office and for dinner. I mailed off a small package to my old company and then we went out for dinner. Fumihiko offered to take me to Paris Cinq, but I felt underdressed. We went to La Chance instead and had a lovely meal there.
After dinner we went to a hardware store for a few supplies and then back to the school. We got back to work. I put up the rest of the signs and was done my work for a while. I started to read my new Empire magazine, well, the suppliment anyway.
The doorbell rang and I answered it. I thought it might be a neighbour or something. It wasn't. It was two Mormon Missionaries! Ack. They were very surprised to see me! In Japan, they travel in teams, one American (usually) and one Japanese guy. We talked for a while and I was amazingly polite to them. I hope they won't come back though. I finally told them that we had to get back to work. They left, leaving a bunch of literature in Japanese behind them. That's the second time I've been visited by religious visitors in Japan.
I finally convinced Fumihiko that we could be more comfortable at home, so we left the school after 9 and came home. Since then, he's sat at the table and done more translating! He keeps muttering to himself and asking me questions that hurt my brain at this time of day (3:41 am to be exact!)
Anyway, I'm going to sign off now. Tomorrow Fumihiko is off work too, but he has a party in the evening. He wants to come home afterwards, but I'm not sure about that. If he takes a cab it's fine.
Talk to you on the morrow, night.
