October 6, 2005 - Thursday

Sunny and warm. Nice day.

This has been an odd week. So much sadness in the world. On Saturday bombings in Bali...over 20 people were killed. Also this week, Ronnie Barker of The Two Ronnies died. The Two Ronnies was one of the funniest TV programs ever. I think Saturday Night Live owes a debt to The Two Ronnies for things like The Weekend Update. That was something they always did.

In my life, however, things were mostly good today. This morning I was napping on the sofa as I usually do, when the doorbell rang. I usually ignore it, but today I didn't. It was the Post Office, re-delivering my books. I signed for them and that was that. Hurray.

Work was a bit busy. Today I had six classes and all of them had only one person in them. Sigh.

And I was working on that darn refrigerator. Still, I am happy to announce that it finished defrosting today. Hurray, hurray, hurray! It now has no ice in it. However, there were things in the freezer part that were there since 2001 or earlier. That's a bit scary. In one of my classes we have been talking about the Iceman, a man who was found in an Alpen glacier. Well, I feel a bit like his finder after doing the fridge! I hope I don't have to do it again. I really hope not.

After work Fumihiko and I went to Cocos. We each had a hamburger and we shared the Taco Salad. It was pretty nice. The meal was quite nice.

We came home and Fumihiko went straight to bed. He's not feeling that well and he had a long day today. He started work quite early.

I have a sore arm. I was reaching into the back of the fridge to try to dislodge a chunk of ice when my student came in. I stood up before I pulled my arm out and I whacked it on the top edge of the fridge. It has already turned blue. I hope no one thinks I'm being abused. Can I get worker's compensation? I can only dream.

Well, that's my day, and the week so far. Have a good night. Bon nuit!
