Sunny and warm, very windy at night. Storm coming?
A good day, with a weird thing.
This morning for breakfast I had shrimp, sausages, and crispbreads. It was great. I had a yucky experience with an egg a few weeks ago and I've gone off them for now.
I rode my old bike to work and started working. I had a couple of early classes then some prep time. In my second class today something strange happened. I was listening to my student when all of a sudden I heard something like a bead bounce on my desk. I looked down and saw my amethyst lying on my desk. I looked at my engagement ring, and sure enough, the stone had fallen out. Oh my goodness. After class I took off my ring, and put it and the stone carefully in a container. Fumihiko and I will take it to a jewellry store on the weekend. I hope it's not an evil portent or something.
I went out a bit early for my lunch and went over to the coffee shop for an ice milk tea. It was lovely, and it was lovely to have a break from the school. I think I needed cheering up. I love my engagement ring and I am a bit depressed that I can't wear it right now. (Okay, I could wear it, but it would be even more depressing, without the stone.)
In the evening I was supposed to have 3 classes, but only two happened. A student caught a cold and was nice enough not to come in and give it to me! Another good thing was that I could leave on time tonight.
I biked home and then Fumihiko and I went to Benkei's for dinner. It was great. We had sashimi and eggplant, veggies, and some meat on sticks! Yum.
We bought a few groceries and then came home. We are now watching The Actors Studio Special. It is great. Ben Kingsley doing Hamlet's advice to the players. It gave me shivers it was so good.
And that was my day. It's also the anniversary of the night that my Dad died. It was 13 years ago. Still miss him sometimes.
