April 11, 2005 - Monday

Warm and sunny, but with a cold wind.

Today was interesting! We slept late and watched a bit of Coal Miner's Daughter, the Loretta Lynn bio. It was quite good, I don't know if I've ever seen it before.

We had lunch at the Hotel Rich in Sakata. As usual, it was terrible for my diet. Buffets in Japan are full of high carb foods. It's very difficult to stay away from those sorts of foods though.

After lunch, we had to hightail it back to Tsuruoka. I had a dental appointment at 2pm. We just made it. Today I had the crown put on my tooth. It doesn't feel comfortable yet. I'm not sure what's wrong. He kept asking if it was too high and I said yes, so he'd adjust it, but it still feels funny. I don't know if it's really too high or if I'm not used to it yet.

After the dentist we came back to the apartment and played a game of "What do you want to do?" Finally, I asked if we could go to the BEACH. I haven't been there this year, and I love going. Fumihiko said yes, and then started getting the fishing gear ready. Huh? I didn't say anything about fishing. I said the BEACH. I knew he really wanted to go, so I didn't say too much to him, but I was a little ticked off.

We tried fishing, but both of us lost hooks and there were no fish biting. My hands were so cold that I had to go and get my gloves. I tried wearing just my fingerless gloves, but ended up putting my regular ones on too. The wind was very cold.

We gave up, and on the way back to Tsuruoka Fumihiko "suddenly" remembered that he had a drinking party tonight. Pardon me? (In all fairness he had told me about it once, but I'd forgotten about it.) So, he came back to the apartment and just left me there. Hmmm. I was a bit ticked off. We had no food in the house, something he knew, and I was really hungry.

After he left, I did too. First I went to Kaneta to look at clothes, a bit for me, although I didn't try any on, and a few for Zachary. I didn't try them on either! I bought a few things for my nephew. Then, I moved on to the video store. I didn't have any movies in mind when I went there and wavered over a few, then decided on Serendipity, the John Cusack-Kate Beckinsale movie. Lastly, I went to the grocery store, bought a few things for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. I'll do a full shopping when I have hubby's wheels!

I came home, made and ate my dinner while reading The Other Side of the Story by Marion Keyes. I'm so close to finishing it, but I still haven't.

Then I popped in the movie. Of course, while I was watching it, Fumihiko came home and was a bit talkative. I wasn't too polite at first, but he started watching it with me and it was nice.

Anyway, he's off doing the bath thing and in a while I'll probably go to bed. I'm quite tired. Must be all that fresh sea air!

It was an interesting weekend. Too bad it has to end. Sigh.

Have a good night. Night night!
