May 24, 2004 - Monday

Gorgeous morning, rainy and cloudy in the evening.

I had a bad night last night. I couldn't sleep very well. I kept having coughing spells. I know I woke Fumihiko up a couple of times. I felt awful. I couldn't stop coughing at all.

When I finally got up this morning we went for lunch to the nice restaurant in Mikawa. I had fish and it was very good, if a little bony. Fumihiko had stew. He didn't like it that much I think. Then, we went to the bank and paid our water bills. Next, I got Fumihiko to take me to the new apartment to do laundry.

While I did my laundry he said he'd go home and make us a stand for our TV and VCR. Well, I didn't see him again for 3 hours. I had thought we'd go to a movie, but no, we didn't. In his absence, his mother had asked him to take her shopping so he did, (nice guy!) Then he went to buy some wood, but found a stand kit for less than the board would have cost!

He put the kit together and while he did that, I finished my jigsaw puzzle. Hurray! Finally. It looks great, but Madame De Pompadour was extremely difficult. I wonder how she was in real life?

Also during my hubbie's disappearance I read some of "Of Marriageable Age" by Sharon Maas (I think). It's very interesting. I can't say I've ever read a lot of Indian related books, even when I was supposed to read E.M.Forster in university, I'm afraid that I didn't get into it. This book is quite fascinating though.

In the evening we went out to Moku Moku for dinner. It was okay, not great, then we went shopping for a new frypan and groceries. Well, I came out of the hardware store with a lot of stuff, including a new clock! Yay. I also got some paper towels, hair mousse and some magnetic hooks.

I bought some groceries and realized that I didn't have a spatula at the apartment, so I got one of those too. Hmm. We delivered the groceries to the new apartment and then took off.

Fumihiko wanted to go to Fujishima to check out the place he has to drive to tomorrow morning. We drove around a bit first, but then found it.

We came home via a convenience store to get drinks and then a yakitori shop to get yakitori. It was really good.

We ate it at home, and I watched ER and finished unpacking my suitcase. It was nice to finally get it empty. We're going to have coffee in a few minutes and then hopefully get off to bed soon. I'm quite tired and I think Fumihiko is too. Poor thing.

Night night!
