August 16, 2004 - Monday

Cooler after rain in the night.

A different day. Fumihiko woke me up at 5 am this morning to tell me that his back was sore. I felt bad, but was a bit cranky because I was sleeping. I went back to sleep, but around 8:30 his uncle called to get him to visit and pick up some melons. Fumihiko said that he was going to go to the doctor so couldn't do that. He dropped me off at the apartment and he went to see the doctor. Less than an hour later he called me back to say his doctor was on holiday and he couldn't see him, but in a couple of hours he could see another doctor.

While Fumihiko was gone I did some laundry and then took a shower. It was nice to have time to do it on my day off, but Fumihiko came back in the middle of it. I showered really quickly and then we went to Tsukiya to have breakfast. We ate fast, then Fumihiko dropped me off at the grocery store.

I got groceries and then came back to the apartment. I read a bit, and wrote out a few change of address cards. I haven't finished them though. Sigh.

When Fumihiko came back, we went shopping. We went to Mashima and looked at chesterfields. We tried out a few, and there was a lovely one I liked that was a mere 230, 000 yen, or about $2300! We didn't get it. We did buy a leather couch, navy blue! It looks good. I'm a bit worried about how they'll get it into our apartment as the door is at a right angle with the hall, but that's not my problem is it?

Then we went to Mikawa and had lunch. Then to the hardware store where I bought some plastic drawers for my clothes. Hurray. They just fitted in the car, just.

I went shopping for clothes in Jusco and had a bumper day. I found tons of stuff to fit me, so I bought most of it. I was actually saying no to stuff that a year ago I wouldn't have. Hurray for me.

We went to see The Day After Tomorrow. We both enjoyed it a lot. I thought the special effects were good, and Dennis Quaid is a darn sexy guy! I hope they let him make more films.

We had a late dinner at Kamerotei. The light on Fumihiko's gas gauge was on, so we went to a gas station for some gas. Then we went home to pick up some stuff. When we left, Fumihiko's Mum waylaid him and they yelled at each other for a while. Sigh. She thinks we're going on a trip, but actually we aren't. Funny that.

We came home...I think I can finally call it that now, and now Fumihiko is watching the Olympics, and I'm typing on my lovely computer! It was a mostly great day. I'm almost sorry to go back to work tomorrow.

Gotta go. Night, night!
