November 27, 2003 - Thursday

Cold and sunny, nice day.

This morning Fumihiko didn't look that good so I decided to talk to him. He wasn't feeling well again. Poor thing. We drove to the apartment quite early. Oh, yeah, there was one weird thing that happened before we left. I usually wait for Fumihiko to drive out of the garage then I close the doors. Well, this morning I was going to do that when his mother materialized out of nowhere and started to close them. She got the order of the doors all mixed up, but I knew that if I stopped her or tried to correct what she was doing I could hurt her with the doors. So, I just let her do what she wanted to do, and got in the car. Fumihiko was watching too, and we both were wondering what in the heck was going on.

It was freezing at the apartment this morning. It was a cold 6 degrees. I didn't turn on the heating though, because I knew that if I didn't get out of the apartment right away I'd stay there. So, I changed into my workout clothes, grabbed my iPod and went for a walk. I walked for about 30 minutes. It was really cold at first, but I got used to it and I warmed up. I have discovered that Neil Diamond songs are great for walking...they have the right rhythm! I also walked to Shania Twain and Robbie Williams. Yay me!

On the way back to my apartment I bought a hot coffee at a machine and then drank it before trying to take a nap. Well, I don't know if it was the coffee or the cold, but I couldn't fall asleep. When I thought I was going to, the warning alarm on my heater went off! Argh!

After taking my shower I watched this week's episode of The West Wing. Every time I watch that show I am amazed at how good it is. If all American TV was that good I'd be a happy person. I also made breakfast and lunch, coffee and then got ready for work.

Work was pretty good today. Two classes didn't show up today, but I had a feeling that they wouldn't so I wasn't too surprised. In one class that is a bit difficult for me, we made tuna salad sandwiches. Well, my student made a sandwich, I just made tuna salad. He's a guy and in Japan men hardly do any cooking. The unit that we are studying is all about food so I thought it was a good idea to show him what some of the verbs really mean. I think he enjoyed it too! I let him eat the sandwich in class and he even thanked me after class. That was a surprise actually!

In my last class tonight all of the students came. That was a pleasant surprise. I had a chat with one of the students after the class about his next class. I think it will be good for him.

I talked to Aya for a bit after school. We're thinking about how to decorate the school for Christmas. I told her some of the stuff that we did before, and she's thinking about doing it again. I hope that it works!

Then I left to meet Fumihiko at the apartment. He was there when I arrived. We went out for dinner tonight, to M's Dining. I had steak because I've had chicken for 2 days this week already and I'm having it again for lunch tomorrow too! It was nice. We also had soup bar, and that was rather good too.

Fumihiko still isn't feeling too well. He was really quiet all night and I felt a little sorry for him. I hope he'll feel better soon. He's in bed now, reading or playing Minesweeper. He loves that game! I just don't get it very well.

And that was my day! I hope the weather holds tomorrow too, I want to go walking again. I'm looking forward to it actually.

Have a good night! TTFN!
