A great day!

In the morning when I got up I was alone. Sigh. Fumihiko had gotten up and had gone out. I was a bit annoyed, but decided that he probably went to get us some breakfast. I decided that if he did, I wouldn't be angry.

Well, he did get us some breakfast! Yay. I also made us some instant ramen so we ate well. We watched one of our DVDs...Princess Mononoke. We watched the English version, with English voices. It was really good. I wanted to watch the Japanese version with English subtitles, but they didn't have that on the DVD. Hmm. Still, I really enjoyed it. It had a very complex story totally different from a western animated movie. Ours tend to be very simple and straight-forward. In our movies the villains are all bad. In Mononoke, the villain was intelligent, and had good qualities. The English speaking actors were pretty well cast too. Claire Daines as the Princess and Billy Bob Thornton as Jiro were great.

Around 4 we decided that we were quite hungry so we went for a viking! A what? I can hear you say. A viking. Actually, we'd call it a buffet. We pay on the way in and then get to eat anything we want for the next 90 minutes. It was quite nice. We had yakiniku and veggies and dessert and soup and lots of different things. We both ate too much and Fumihiko said that he couldn't walk after eating!

We went back to the apartment and watched our other DVD. Casablanca. It was great. In glorious black and white. I wasn't sure if Fumihiko would enjoy it as much as I did, but he did. After we watched the movie there was a documentary about the film and some trailers from other Bogie movies, so it was quite interesting.

Then we decided to come home. We'll go to bed soon, and tomorrow we'll have work. Sigh.

I'm off to Sapporo on Wednesday for a meeting. I probably won't report tomorrow night, so I'll talk to you again on Thursday, the 17th. Don't worry about me!

Later, night-night!
