October 15, 2001 - Monday
Well, I'm back to my daily update, but I'm writing quite early in the day.
I tried to set up my computer with modem this morning without too much success. I
didn't know what was going on, or why it didn't work, so I chucked it in and went
out for lunch with Fumihiko.
Lunch was okay at the time, but afterwards we both decided it wasn't that good.
We came back to the house and I tried again on the computer. I found a button to
change the way the modem dials from tone to pulse, so I asked him if his phone beeps
when he dials it. He said no! I changed the button, and it worked. Yay! I can't
believe it was something so simple. I downloaded all my messages...29 of them...and set
the computer aside for later.
I got a bit upset with Fumihiko because he kept trying to make lists of people to
give nice sets of our wedding pictures to and I don't care. He knows who he needs
to give to, I don't really have anyone. Also a lot of discussion about who to give
"Thank You" presents to and for what, and how much stuff to give too. I got tired of it,
especially since none of my day's goals were being met. I really needed to do laundry,
get the bicycle from Gabrielle, and put away some of my clothes. Well, I got 2 out
of 3 done, so I guess that's a start. I don't have anything to put my clothes on or
in yet. However, we picked up the bicycle and Fumihiko spent a couple of hours repairing
and polishing it. I hardly recognize it. It looks great.
I think I'm just going through a stage where all the stress of the last month is catching
up with me. It's been quite a month. I know
that I have to relax and give myself and everyone else time to adjust to having me
around, but I haven't been able to yet.
Still, Rome wasn't built in a day, was it?
