November 26, 2000 - Sunday

I'm sitting here in front of my TV (and computer) watching Highlander 2, preparing to tell you all about my day. Well, I got off to a slow start. I slept really late and then I did laundry. I was going to go out and see my student's ikebana exhibit, but I took a long time to do one load of laundry, and then WOWOW's free weekend showed Species 2 so I ended up rewatching it. I went out sometime around 6:00 to the mall.

There was a place in the mall that had a smorgasbord for 1200 yen and it sounded okay, but I realized I'd rather be with other people for that. I instead went to my little coffee shop on another floor and had really delicious pasta and coffee. It's funny when I go to a restaurant, the waitstaff often gets a little nervous, until I order in Japanese then they relax.

I went shopping after and picked up a few things...some more root beer and a little doodad for someone's Christmas present.

I decided to go and see Charlie's Angels afterwards. I was very silly, I got popcorn and nachos for the performance, so the guy gave me a tray to carry everything with. I took my seat and then hoped that no one was sitting beside me as I put the tray on the next seat and my bag on the floor beside me. A few minutes after I sat down, two people came and sat in the row behind me. It was one of my school's students and her boyfriend. Another time I had gone to a late movie I ran into them, and they gave me a ride home. Well, they offered again after the movie and I accepted. It was a really nice treat.

At home I watched Highlander as mentioned before and wrote my entry. A kind of slow day. Not much happened. Tomorrow I'm half planning to go to Sapporo after my lesson, to see if I can find any good Christmas presents for the men in my life. Why is it they are always the hardest to shop for? I might not, it just depends.

Anyway, I'm off for this evening. Later....
