GLASTONBURY AND ON TO LONDON

Chalice Well

Back on the flat land, we visited the Chalice Well which is now owned and protected. They've done it very tastefully, maintaining a lot of the integrity of the surrounding vegetation. There are various meditation areas along the path of the water that pours from the Well. I filled my large bottle with the water and it now sits upon my altar. By the way, this is the Well that I use in Starrling's Flight.

Big Ben

We were so tired by the time we got to London that we didn't take too many pictures, but we had to have the standard shot of Big Ben.

Warrior Queen Boadicea

Her name is spelled several ways, Boadicea, Boudicca, Boadicca are some but she was Queen of the Iceni. Her Norfolk kingdom was about to be taken over by the Roman invasion and she led a revolt, burning all of Londinium (London) down (60 c.e.) to try to prevent the takeover. Of course we know she was unsuccessful but she was a fearsome warrior queen. Most of the accounts of her are from the Roman bias, thus describing her as a barbarian at times. Heh. Seems more like the Romans were the barbarians, frankly.
