Dort, Roy James

79, Milford Haven Home for Special Care,
Guysborough, formerly of Half Island Cove,
died Thursday in the home. Born in Half Way Cove,
he was a son of the late Valentine and Lucy (Bond) Dort.
He was a retired fisherman and a member of St James Anglican Church.
He was a veteran of the Second World War,
serving with Pictou Highlanders. He is survived by two daughters,
Marie (Mrs Richard Hodge), Mrs Barbara Dean both of Halifax;
two sons, Wayne, Eastern Passage; Rodger, Port Dufferin;
a stepson Joyce Jones, Goldboro; a sister Mrs Jennie MacDonald,
Cooks Cove; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren;
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Rumley;
a son, Wilson; three brothers; four sisters.
The body is in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough,
visiting 2-9 p.m. today. Funeral will be 11a.m. Saturday
in St James Anglican Church, Half Way Cove, Rev. Paul Wilkie officiating.
Burial will be in church cemetery.
