Laurier Delbert Dort, 75, Halifax,
died April 16 in Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Peas Brook, Guys Co, he was the eldest son of
the late Levinia Munroe. He was a retired employee
of Ralph Connor Co Ltd and served with the
Royal Canadian Artillery during the Second World War.
Surviving are his wife the former Ellen Hodgson,
a daughter Kim (Mrs James Liptrot) Dartmouth,
two sons, Edgar, Halifax, Tony at home,
three stepsons, Clare, Halifax; Gerald, Auld's Cove; Donald, Port Hood;
two sisters, Katie (Mrs Clyde Ehler), Guysborough; Margaret (Mrs Clinton Morgan)
Kirkland Lake Ont; three brothers, Cleve, Halifax; Robert ,
Prince Edward Island; John Black's Harbour, N B; 23 grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife
Dorothy Williams, a stepson ,Edison. Funeral was held Sunday
in Snow's funeral Home, Halifax and the body was cremated.
A memorial service is planned for Half Way Cove, Guys Co.
