About Chelsie
Chelsie is a Cream/Sable Pomeranian who was born December 28, 1997 in Buena Park, California, best known as the home of Knott's Berry Farm. Her father is Teddy, who lives with his mommy and daddy Gail and Jerry and fellow Pomeranians Fred, Punky, Daisy, Wilbur,Katie. Her mother Happy lives around the corner in the same neighborhood and is owned by a Korean family. I was able to obtain Chelsie because Teddy's grandma June is a friend of mine.
Chelsie spent the first few days at home in a laundry basket most of the time to protect her from big sister Sami. Chelsea Clinton was the inspitation for her name. The spelling was changed so it wouldn't seem so British, and it looks cuter, too.
Chelsie was about 1 pound when she came home at the age of 6 weeks. Now she is full grown at around 8 lbs. and holding (hopefully). If she reaches 9 or 10 lbs., she's going on a diet.
Unlike homebody Sami, Chelsie loves to go places. Many times she expects to be taken along for the ride to places like the grocery store. But someone has to stay in the car with her or else she will cry if left alone. One day she had a doggy tantrum because her mommy and daddy wouldn't take her shopping with them.
If your dog loves to go places as much as Chelsie does, check out the website DogFriendly.com. It mentions places where you are permitted to bring your dog, including places of employment.
When Chelsie does get to go for a ride or just hang out in the front yard, she is to wear her leash. She has just learned to get the leash herself when she wants to go out. Most of the time when asked to get her leash, she does it.
Chelsie's favorite foods include pasta, dried apricots, brown rice, fresh-cooked chicken, Purina Moist 'N Meaty( I believe the company is discontinuing the product because it is nearly impossible to find in the supermarkets). She often has to watch out for Sami possibly stealing her food.
Recently, Chelsie was diagnosed with Bilateral Medial Patella Luxation, meaning that the kneecaps on her hind legs were on the sides rather than in the usual front position. She had been experiencing pain sometimes when picked up and often collapsed her legs if taken for a walk. She will need surgery to correct this condition.
