They've Got a Secret

This episode sets up quite a bit to happen in future episodes. First off, and probably more importantly, is Moya's pregnancy. Okay, who saw that one coming? It's the start of problems for them all. Moya nearly kills Pilot and the rest of the crew to protect her baby without even realizing it. And as I write this, it's just over a month till the beginning of the season finale and (as far as I know) the birth of Moya's baby, so I'm not getting into this so I don't spoil anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled...
Okay, MAJOR kudos go out to Anthony Simcoe, simply for making me cry. His performance was absolutely stunning, and completely heartbreaking. We had only been given a tease of D'Argo's real crime, and no answers at all. And here we learn that there was no crime, that D'Argo was simply a loyal husband and father who was punished for being so. He goes from being the character we know and does a split second change into his fantasy world where he, Lo'laan and Jothee are together, and it's so effective... This is a wonderful shift in D'Argo's character, and one I never would have expected (if I hadn't seen all the episodes out of order and hadn't known this ahead of time).
This development also brings out some questions, especially from the last scene between D'Argo and Aeryn. Of course, from a shipper standpoint, a little wrench could get thrown into this with Aeryn's thing about how Peacekeepers are supposed to keep the bloodlines pure, and how unions such as Lo'laan and D'Argo's are evil. Then again, with her comment about Jothee, I don't think those are her personal views, so possible crisis possibly averted. But then there's the much more confusing question I have about how Peacekeepers are made Peacekeepers. There's been speculation that Aeryn was a test tube baby, which would make sense, for the soldiers to be bred without family so there's no attachment in case something happens to them. But that's complicated with Crais and his brother, because if all the PK's are test tube babies, how can they have siblings? And then you bring in Lo'laan and Macton, where Macton was a PK, and as far as we've been told, Lo'laan was not. So now I'm thoroughly confused and thinking too much about this, and if any of TPTB are seeing this, I'd really appreciate some kind of clarity on this, por favor...
Another little twist I love is Aeryn taking over for Pilot. Thank you to whoever thought up that little continuity follow-through! I'd think that if your DNA was altered, it would be pretty difficult to just fix something like that. And I'm glad these guys didn't take the easy way out and just forget about DNA Mad Scientist here. It's really an interesting plot turn, and adds to the Aeryn/Pilot dynamic that you all know I love.
