Throne for a Loss

First off, this was defintely well-directed. The direction worked in perfectly with the halfway-to-heavy-metal score by
and the cuts and camera angles were pretty original and effective. Kudos on that one!
And Virginia Hey was just amazing in this one. We get to see some KickAssZhaan, which was impressive to see the kind of strength she has without hardly even moving. Zhaan's scenes with the young Tavlek that she was trying to help from withdrawal from the gauntlet as extremely moving, and I felt genuinely bad at the final outcome. Wonderful job.
This episode also had some great comedic moments with the John-and-Aeryn-bicker, and John's way of convincing Bekesh to give Rygel back. Then while not really comedic, I loved the changes the gauntlet brought about in D'Argo and Aeryn (thought I'm glad they weren't permanent changes). From D'Argo's lashing out at the crew and John and Aeryn's reactions to it, to Aeryn's kill-'em-all attitude on the planet, it was fun to watch. Though I would not want to deal with anyone like that in real life...
Sorry this isn't longer. My brain isn't functioning normally... (Thank you, school...)
