DISCLAIMER: Don't own them... I can wish, I can dream, I can hope, but I
won't ever own them. *sniff* I wanna have Crichton!!!! Okay, sorry for
that one. And no, I won't start being shippy here, Crichton isn't owned
by Aeryn.
ARCHIVING: Yes. (now that was short) But tell me where you put this...
NOTES: Sequel to Too Late... kinda answering it. What the heck, it's my
muses fault, followed by the 'shipper-list.
Anyway, don't cry... I like the happy shippy side more than the dark
side.
FEEDBACK: Ohhh… presents!!!! I love feedback…

"Crichton, wake up."
"Aeryn?"
He looked up at Aeryn.
"Where… what…" he mumbled, looking around the room sleepily.
"Aeryn, what are you doing here?" he asked, once he had full woken up.
"I couldn't sleep." Aeryn simply said, and she sat down next to him.
"So you decided to wake me up, just to tell me that you can't sleep?"
Crichton said.
He wasn't going to tell her about his nightmare, or the fact that he was
glad to know that she was still alive.
"When I entered your quarters…" Aeryn was silent for a moment, thinking
about the best way to start a conversation. "Do you know you talk in
your sleep?"
"What?"
"You were calling me… while you were sleeping."
When Crichton just stared at her dumbly, she continued. "You were
dreaming about me, weren't you?"
Okay, so he didn't need to tell her that he was having a nightmare about
her.
"I guess I was. Listen, Aeryn. It's great that you came to my room…"
The words slipped out of his mouth before he could stop them.
"What? What do you mean by that, Crichton?" she snapped.
"It means… whatever you want it to mean. What I wanted to say was that
I'm grateful that you woke me up. Because I like this place a lot better
than that place in my dream." He looked at Aeryn, wondering what she
would do when, if he would kiss her right now.
"What place?" He heard Aeryn ask and she waved her hand in front of his
face. "Crichton!"
"Huh, what?"
"What place where you dreaming about?"
"I was on Moya, but without you. You died… I killed you when you
succumbed to the Living Death. I kept my promise Aeryn, but god, it
hurts like hell. I don't want to live without you…" he said as the first
tears slowly escaped his closed eyelids.
Aeryn didn't know what to do. Here she was, with a human that she
couldn't understand, on board of an escaped prison ship. And he was
crying! Because of some dream of what could've been. She could've been
dead, if it hadn't been for Crichton. She had to admit that he was
smart.
She didn't know why she had come to his quarters. He was her only
friend, the others… they probably hated her. When she was with Crichton,
she could forget about everything, the friends she had on board the
Command carrier, the lack of any PeaceKeepers… but not that she was, in
fact, different. His kind didn't know the Living Death. And she was glad
they didn't, because otherwise, they would've been dead. Aeryn looked
back at Crichton, who was staring at the ceiling.
"I don't know what it would be like to be without you. You're a very
good friend, John."
She rested her head on his shoulder. "Can I stay here tonight… with
you?" She felt, rather than saw him nod. "And will you tell me about
your Earth?"
Crichton smiled and laid his arm around her shoulders. "What do you want
to know?"
"Everything…"
