MPJ Bible and Prayer Fellowship

Men Praising Jesus

The fellowship was started in California in 1997 as a men's prayer breakfast open to Men of faith and their guests. Our local fellowship now includes women who are a blessing.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

We do keep to our purpose, beginning each meeting with hymns of praise and a good Bible study, while breakfast is served at our local restaurant, finishing with prayers. We have seen many healings and other answers to our prayers in unity.

The initials MPJ stand for the three scriptures used as the guiding purpose of our Christian fellowship. Love - Unity - Fruit - These are basic to the Christian faith. Matthew 22:37-39 (Love) - Philippians 2:2-5 (Unity) - John 15:16-17 (Fruit)

Love

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Unity

Phil 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Phil 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Phil 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Fruit

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

A miracle in our group

Today I want to tell you that God is a faithful miracle working God. In our MPJ Bible and Prayer Fellowship this morning was a great miracle of God's grace.

First, let me give you the background to this story. For the past two years one of the men in our fellowship has been reading letters from his son who was in prison for drug use. Chris was 46 years old, has two daughters and a sister who were praying for him. Chris found Jesus and his letters were full of God's grace in his life. He knew that when he was released from prison that things would be different. This time he would follow the Lord.

The time came for Chris to be released and he came to our fellowship and was received with hugs into our fellowship. This was several months ago. However, on Feb 22, Chris was complaining of headaches, and his face on one side had lost control of the nerve. He went to the doctor to see what was wrong. They found a massive growth the size of a baseball in his brain. Now I tell you this, how many times have you looked forward to something and when you thought God was blessing you and all was going as smooth as could be, suddenly something unexpected comes from the devil to derail your dreams. This was a devastating thing to find a growth in your brain. The size of it made it probable that survival was a slim chance. If you were to survive an operation, there normally would be side affects, a damaged facial nerve, loss of memory, inability to walk, perhaps the loss of speech, even if you survived the operation.

There just happened to be a team of surgeons in our small town who were consulted for another case. They specialized in growth removal. Chris immediately went to the hospital and the surgeons operated on him for 12 hours. Our Christian fellowship and other believers in our Lord Jesus Christ prayed for healing. Chris came through the operation, praise God.

One week later, today Thursday March 7, the fellowship met for breakfast and in walked Gordon, the father of Chris with good news. Chris was going to be alright. It doesn't stop here, behind Gordon was Chris, walking without any support with a big smile on his face. He said "God has healed me completely, I have no memory loss, no facial damage and I even can walk without the need of a cane. He was completely normal. I gave him a big hug, others hugged him and shook his hand. All rejoicing in the glory of our Lord. As we sang hymns of praise we were singing with joy for his great miracle. Chris himself opened our meeting with a prayer of thanksgiving. Our God is worthy of all our worship and praise.

The doctors were amazed. They had been prepared for rehabilitation and were looking for evidence of some damage. He needed no rehabilitation. One week later after the 12 hour surgery , he was completely normal. Only now he knew that God had spared him for his purpose. He said "I will serve him with all of my heart."

I say this in conclusion, when your plans are interrupted, when satan comes to put an end to your dream. Do not give up. God will be glorified so continue in faith. He loves you and he is able to work his glory in your life.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
