One last Wish
Chapter 6

Hope could not believe her eyes. She could've sworn her mind was deceiving her because what stood in front of her was a definite sight for sore eyes. There stood a dream come true. All five guys of Nsync. And what freaked her out the most was that she looked like crap.

Justin laughed at her little remark while the others merely chuckled. "So is that a good 'oh my god' or a bad 'oh my god'?"

"Umm....it's a good one....TRUST ME!" Hope laughed nervously as she turned around to look at herself in the mirror. Once she saw her reflection, her light green eyes widened and her jaw dropped in surprise. "Oh my god...umm..I have to..." she began stuttering as she turned to smile at them, "I have to...uhh....hold on..." she said rushing into the bathroom and slamming the door behind her.

The five guys stood there in the small doorway and let themselves into the room after Hope had rushed off. JC closed the door behind them and turned to a calm and nonchalant Justin. "A little high strung don't ya think?"

"C'mon Chris, it's not like she screamed her head off or anything. She didn't expect us, give her a break." Justin argued starting to loose his temper at Chris' comment.

"Geez J, you don't have to be all so defensive." Chris replied.

"What's up with you anyway? You just met the girl, why you so concerned about her all of a sudden, is there something we should know about?" Joey asked curiously.

"What are you implying?" Justin turned to Joey.

Joey held up his hands to ward off any argument, "never mind."

"Look, she's a real nice girl and she doesn't have much time left, I just want to keep her happy 'til then.." Justin stopped himself in the middle of his sentence since Hope had started to walk out of the bathroom.

Of course she had cleaned up her appearance and was back to wearing her dark blue jeans and a red Nautica sweater over a white tank. Her once frizzy auburn hair was now brushed and swept up into a tight ponytail. She smiled at the guys as she hesitantly walked over to them. It was an awkward moment, but Justin made it easier for all of them.

"Now don't you look peechy keen!" Justin said as she twirled in front of him before giving him a hug.

"I'm sorry about earlier, I was well...you know." She nervously giggled.

"Don't worry about it. Anyway, I was hoping that you would meet the rest of the guys." Justin said stepping back a little to uncover the four other guys of Nsync. All of them shook hands and introduced themselves.

After another awkward silence, Hope's parents came into the room to tell Hope that it was okay for all of them to leave. Before Hope walked out of the room, Leigh took her daughter by the hand and smiled at her, "so are you happier sweetheart?"

Hope's eyes lit up when she realized who had gotten Justin and the rest of the guys to visit her, "it was you wasn't it mom?"

Leigh nodded her head before Hope rushed into her arms and hugged her tightly. "Thank you mom. I love you."

"I love you to sweetheart. Now go on and have fun, I'll meet you at the resturaunt." Leigh said ushering her out the door.

Once Hope left, Leigh sowly began gathering Hope's stuff off the hospital bed as she remembered what the doctor had told her earlier:

"So doctor, is the chemo helping at all?" Leigh nervously asked the doctor.

"Honestly Mrs. Evans, I would love to lie to you, but the chemo hasn't really done much good and the caner is spreading faster than we thought it would. Right now I have two options for you, and I want you to discuss this with both Hope and your husband before any desicion is made for sure. The first option is that we continue the chemotherapy and we also put her through agressive radiation, or we can stop the chemo all together and give her some medications to keep her comfortable."

Leigh sighed in agony as she choked and struggled to speak, "if we decide to put her through radiation, will it help any?"

The doctor looked at her and gave her a small smile of comfort, "I must warn you that the radiation will be grueling and that in most cases, 9 out of 10 patients become physically and emotionally drained. At this point, it will probably delay the spread of the cancer, but I don't see any possibility that she'll go into remission."

Leigh closed her tightly to keep her tears from falling, but she was unsucessful when one single teardrop escaped. She kept her eyes closed and prepared, "so, give me the worse case scenerio."

"Worst case scenerio? With radiation, she'll loose her strength all together but it will prolong her life by maybe a month or two at the most. Without it... she has 2 months."

Leigh finished packing Hope's things and sat on the bed as she bega to cry. The only words she could hear in her head was those of the doctors repeating: "...she has 2 months."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(At the resturaunt)

Hope and her parents had met the guys over at a nice little Italian resturaunt in downtown Orlando. Once they were all seated and had their orders taken, the table fell silent. No one really know what to say to each other, but Leigh decided that things had to change so she tried to start a conversation.

"So Justin, how long do you guys plan on staying in Orlando?" Leigh asked she sipped her soda.

"A couple weeks. Then we're going back on tour for the summer." He replied.

"You guys must be very busy with touring and everything." Hope's father said trying to get into the conversation also.

"Yah, but we like being home." JC finally replied.

Well, to say the least, each person at the table breathed a sigh of relief once their food had arrived. But the silence didn't last long. Hope finally started talking to each one of them and by the time they were waiting for dessert, they were all indulging in deep conversations. Once the song "Because you loved Me" came on and people started filling the dance floor, Hope sighed and remarked how much she loved this song.

Justin smiled at her and held his hand out to her as he stood up, "I wouldn't want to disappoint you since you like this song so much, so would you do me the honor of dancing with me?"

By then everyone had stopped talking and eyed the pair as Hope sat there silently and stared up at Justin. She couldn't resist his warm ocean blue eyes and bright smile. She smiled up at him and gently slipped her hand into his as she slowly got out of her seat and followed him onto the dancefloor. Once they got there, Justin placed his hands around her waist as she placed hers on his shoulders. It was a moment that Hope knew she would never forget.

"You've done it again Timberlake," Hope whispered into his ear as they continued to sway to the music.

Justin pulled away from her a little bit to look at her and smiled, "what have I done again?"

"You've managed to turn one of my bad days into a good one and make another dream come true." She answered.

"Was that the dream of meeting all the guys of Nsync?" He asked curiously.

"No, it was the dream of dancing like this with you."
