HAT
Materials: Red Heart Super Saver – Black, Aran Fleck, Warm Brown.
Size G hook (or size needed for gauge).
Round 1: Using Black, chain 4, join in first chain to form ring. Chain 1, hdc in ring. Work 11 more hdc in ring, Join with slip stitch to first hdc. Tighten ring.
Rnd. 2: Chain 1, 2 hdc in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 24 hdc.
Rnd 3: Chain 1, 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 36 hdc.
Rnd 4: Chain 1. 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 48 hdc.
Rnd 5: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. 48 hdc.
Rnd 6: Chain 1. 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next 3 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 60 hdc.
Rnd 7: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. 60 hdc.
Rnd 8: Chain 1. 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next 4 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 72 hdc.
Rnd 9: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. Finish off. 72 hdc.
Rnd 10: Using Aran Fleck, join in any stitch with slip stitch. Chain 1. 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next 5 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 84 hdc.
Rnd 11: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. 84 hdc.
Rnd 12: Chain 1, 2 hdc in same stitch. (Hdc in next 6 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 96 hdc.
Rnd 13: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch, chain 1. (skip next hdc, hdc in next hdc, chain 1) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 96 hdc.
Rnd 14: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch. Hdc in each chain space and each hdc around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc. 96 hdc.
Rnd 15: Repeat Rnd 13.
Rnd 16: Repeat Rnd 14. 96 hdc.
Rnd 17: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. 96 hdc.
Rnd 18: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. Finish off. 96 hdc.
Rnd 19: Using Warm Brown, join with slip stitch in any stitch. Hdc in each hdc around.
Rnd 20: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch and in each hdc around. 96 hdc.
Rnd 21-23: Repeat Rnd 20.
Rnd 24: Chain 1, hdc in same hdc and in next hdc. (Work fpdc in next stitch on Rnd 23. Hdc in next 2 hdc’s) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc.
Rnd 25-26: Chain 1, hdc in same hdc and in next hdc. (Work fphdc in next stitch of previous row. Hdc in next 2 hdc’s) around. Join with slip stitch to first hdc.
Rnd 27: Chain 1, hdc in back loops only of same hdc and in each stitch around. Finish off. 96 hdc.
**I worked a band of clear elastic through the last row to help keep the shape.
SCARF
The scarf is worked in the same pattern repetition as the hat. It measures 7 1/2" wide and can be as long as you wish. The rows should start with an even number of stitches in order for you to have and odd number of stitches throughout the rows.
