All-Purpose Stitch

I’m left-handed, so the picture you see shows the stitches leaning the opposite way that they would if you are right-handed.

Straight Stitch:

Foundation – Chain multiples of 3+1.

Row 1 – Ch 1, 1 sc, 2 dc in 1 st, sk 2 sts, (1 sc, 2 dc) in next st, sk 2 sts*), rep * to *, to end of row, 1 sc in last st.

Row 2 – Ch 1, 1 sc, 2 dc in first sc, *(1 sc, 2 dc) in each following sc*, rep * to *, to end of row, 1 sc in last st (first sc of previous row).

Repeat Row 2 for pattern.

Triangle Pattern:

Chain 4.

Row 1 – 2 dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch 3, turn.

Row 2 – 2 dc in same st, 1 sc and 2 dc, all in last dc of row (which is ch 3 from 1st row). Ch 2, turn.

Row 3 – 2 dc in same st. 1 sc and 2dc in next sc, 1 sc and 2 dc in last dc.

Row 4 – 2 dc in same st. *1 sc and 2 dc in each sc of previous row*. End by making 1 sc + 2dc in last dc. Chain 3, turn.

Row 5 – Repeat Row 4 until desired length is reached.
