The Church Council Project

  • Essential Doctrine for a New Millennium
The Church Council Project of the Coalition on Revival is a united effort of theologians and Christian leaders from multiple denominations to clarify and reaffirm historic, biblical doctrines that are presently being undermined by false teaching and outright heresy. Unless these issues are discussed, clarified and reaffirmed, the Church cannot fulfill the Great Commission, bring forth healthy spiritual children or influence our dying societies with its salt and light. To bring to light the historic, orthodox, biblical position on these foundational issues, twenty-one papers have been written by the International Church Council Committee to be discussed in a forum of dignified, scholarly debate in 70 targeted countries the following eight years. In each of those countries, a National Council on Theology will be formed to host a National Theological Consultation wherein each of these papers and issues is to be discussed. During August of 2003, 2005 and 2007, it is planned that a series of Global Church Councils will meet, modeled after the early ecumenical councils (Nicea in 325, etc.) to discuss these matters at an international level with representatives from every denomination and Christian organization which wishes to participate.
