619 REUNION 2005

Hello all,

Nolan "Moose" Beatty here. I saw your emails flying across the
airwaves from the AJ Group site.

In case you're not already aware, the AJ will be having a reunion here
in Kansas City (where I live). The reunion date is Friday, 2 September
2005 - it will cooincide with the national USSVI convention.

There are a couple of web sites that have (or will have) the details:

Now, I'd like to ask you folks for two personal favors:

1. If you're interested in coming out for the reunion, I'd like to hear
from you via email - send me your name so I can tie your email addresses
to a name. I'll be in touch. (if you're not interested, email me and
i'll take you off this list).

2. Whether or not you plan to attend, please forward this to your AJ
brethern, ok? In other words, spread the word - and yes, I know it's
more than a year away, but it's never to early to start your planning.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. And please,
send no rants. And thanks in advance for your support. We're going
make this the best reunion ever - and I'm calling it . . . (sorry)

I now have schedule information for the Andrew Jackson reunion, which will occur during the 2005 USSVI convention in Kansas City, Missouri. The date of the AJ reunion is: ( a drum roll please) . . . . . . . 2 September 2005. This will be on a a Friday.
So, to summarize, here is what we know thus far: (feel free to publish)

WHAT: Reunion for USS Andrew Jackson, SSBN 619
WHEN: Friday, 2 September 2005
WHERE: Kansas City, Missouri
ADDITIONAL INFO: The reunion will take place during the same time as the 2005 USSVI convention in Kansas City, Missouri. The hotel site for the USSVI convention is the Hyatt Regency Crown Center Hotel, 2345 McGee Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64108. The hotel is near the downtown area of Kansas City, Missouri and is close to many attractions and convention events. Hotel rates have not yet been determined. However, there will blocks of rooms made available for convention attendees as well as reunion attendees - however this is no guarantee that everyone can be accommodated. But not to worry, there is plenty of lodging available in the area.

The Topeka-Jefferson City chapter of USSVI will be sponsoring the 2005 USSVI convention (Aug 30 - Sep 4), at which there will be numerous boat reunions (AJ being just one). For reference purposes, the website of this USSVI chapter is: www.tjcsubbase.org. In addition, our friend Bob Chew, who has a decent AJ website of his own, has agreed to post AJ reunion information on the Andrew Jackson Association website beginning sometime in 2004. I don't yet have cost info regarding how much will be charged for the reunion, but you know what? - whatever it is, it will be worth it, so don't worry about it - start saving up now and you'll be in fine shape come September 2005. I'll certainly be at the reunion, but then again, I live here. More info will follow regarding this event, so stay tuned. Kansas City is a nice place. September should be a most delightful time of year to be here. Tell your friends. Get the word out early. Don't make me come out there.
