A.F.I.

They started in the summer of '91 in Ukiah, CA. At first, the Punk/hardcore band consisted of Davey Havok, who would be singing, Vick, who would play bass, Mark, who played guitar, and Adam Carson, who would be on the drums. After Eight months Vick was no longer in the band, and Geoff Kresge was to be bassist. They played around Ukiah For a while at a place called the Pheonix Theatre,then put out a split 7 inch with another Ukiah band called Loose Change. Then an EP called Behind the Times. Nobody really cared for them. Then Davey, Mark, and Adam graduated from highschool and AFI broke up. They all went their serperate ways...Adam to Santa Cruz, Davey to UC berkeley, Mark went somewhere in Southern California, and Geoff went to New Jersey to join the band Blanks 77. Then on December 22 (on Christmas break) They did a reunion show at the Pheonix Theatre. They had such a great time that they decided they must get the band back together. So they decided they would all quit school. They then put out a live 7 inch called Eddie's Picnic's All Wet which was their reunion show. Then another 7 inch called A Fly in the Ointment and put it out on Wedge Records. They did their first tour in 1994, with the Fat records band Swingin' Utters. They have been playing and recording ever since. Geoff Officially left the band. Hunter then joined AFI as the full-time bassist, after their recent U.S. tour. They then released their new album called Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, on Nitro Records. In the fall of 98 AFI parted with the guitarist Mark, and brought in their new guitarist Jade Puget who used to be in the old school hardcore band Redemption 87. AFI has now released Black Sails In The Sunset on Nitro Records...and that is about it for their bio.
