Greta (Norma Herrera) and her two daughters, Bárbara (Erika Buenfil) and Fatima (Karyme Lozano), are three women in different stages of life who have had similar experiences in love. The youngest of the three, Fatima, is a strong-willed, independent woman who is engaged to marry an obsessively jealous man named Adrian (Sergio Sendel). Fatima and Adrian’s relationship becomes increasingly strained when she is introduced to his co-worker, Sebastian (Jorge Salinas). Fatima immediately becomes attracted to Sebastian and seeks advice on what to do from her older sister, Bárbara. Bárbara was raised very strictly by her mother and hence, does not approve of Fatima’s affection for Sebastian. Bárbara, however, has silently suffered emotionally as well. Although she has been married for 10 years and is the mother of a young daughter, she has lived an empty life very similar to that of her mother, Greta, who has remained tied for many years to a man she does not love.
Destiny, however, will give both these women a second chance at love by bringing them into contact with the men that will spark their passions. In order to care for her daughter’s asthma, Bárbara will have to travel to the ranch of her husband’s cousin, Daniel (Alexis Ayala). While there, Bárbara will be torn by her affection for Daniel and the obligation she feels towards her husband. Greta will likewise encounter the same dilemma, as she is reacquainted with a past love that will bring her into conflict with her husband. Faced with a second chance at love, all three women in this drama will have to make the difficult decision of holding on to a passionless relationship or allowing themselves an opportunity for long-term happiness.
