Ash Ketchum

Crystal Dragon:

This is our main character, 10-year old Ash Ketchum of Pallet town. He is one of the most stubborn characters, which can also lead to stubbornness of his Pokemon, especially Pikachu. He doesn't exactly have any common sense, and can lose a lot of battles, but you can be sure he learns from his mistakes and kicks butt!
Aside from his lack of brain cells, he has his sympothy for his pokemon. Numerous times his great deal of friendship and care led him to victory, not to mention more pokemon!
His main goal? To become the greatest Pokemon Master of all time (and maybe Misty's greatest boyfriend of all time).
Any other information? His Japanese name is Satoshi, and a nickname that is often given to him by Duplica and Gary is "Ashy-boy". (Hehe, I like it!)
It's also said that in the Japanese version, Ash is 14, not ten. Well, have you ever came across a 10-year old that acts like that?

Some people believe that Ash's stubbornness and ambition that drive him to succeed are due to his lack of wisdom. Whatever the cause may be, we know Ash never gives up and is always ready to overcome any challenge with a powerful punch of ambition and will-power.
Ash (or much rather Satoshi) is based on the creator of Pokemon. He may lose his head sometimes,  but Ash Ketchum has enough determination to make up for his lack of brains. Also his love for Pokemon is a major factor in his ongoing success. 
Ash isn't a rude person, well at least not to the good guys, and is always making new friends. Ash is a fairly optimistic guy, partially because he has so much ambition. Some say he can be arrogant, while others say the opposite 
Ash is the main character, and might I add the most popular. While some of the other characters have habits of appearing late into the show or leaving right in the middle (take Todd and Brock for examples), Ash has been there since the very beginning. And actually, the episode that  shows the most about him and his life, is the very first.
