Armsworthy, Ralph Allison

75, Canso, died Monday at home.
Born in Canso, he was a son of the late
Matthew and Eliza (George) Armsworthy. He was a retired
lighthouse keeper on Cranberry Island, Guysborough Co.
He was a former policeman for the town of Canso
and veteran of the Second World War,
serving with Provost Corps. He was a member of
All Saints Anglican Church. He is survived by
his wife, the former Emma Dort; four daughters,
Gloria (Mrs Serge Gendron), Toronto; Emma (Mrs Herbert Harnish), Little Dover;
Barbara (Mrs Charles Spurr); Stella (Mrs George McNeary)
both of Bridgewater; three sons, John, Big Island, Pictou Co;
Donald, Canso; Jerry, Half Island Cove, Guysborough Co;
a brother Clyde, Fox Island, Guysborough Co.
23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter Shirley, a son William,
two grandchildren. The body is in Haverstock Funeral Home,
Canso, visiting from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today.
Cremation to follow. Donations may be made
to Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso
