HILTZ, Leonard Charles - 78 Bickerton West, Guysborough Co.,
died October 2, 1998, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born at Fishermans Harbour, Guysborough Co.,
he was a son of the late Clifford and Elvina Mae (Spratley) Hiltz.
He was a member of Port Bickerton United Baptist Church.
He was a retired commercial fisherman, boat builder and carpenter.
He was also a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve, doing convoy duty in the North Atlantic.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Isobel Kaiser;
daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Wayne Mahar)
Marsha (Mrs. John McGrath) Sonora, Guysborough Co.;
brother, Gordon, Lower Sackville;
sister, Amy Peach, Port Morien, Cape Breton Co.;
five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sister, Gwendolyn in infancy.
Visitation was Sunday and the funeral Monday, both in Port Bickerton United Baptist Church,
Rev. Archie Leach officiating.
Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Port Bickerton.
Donations to Hillside Cemetery fund or any charity.
Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
