J.H. Spanks Passes Away
New Glasgow - Joseph Harry Spanks, 83,
of 166 Rutherford Street, died
Monday in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Lochaber, son of the late
James and Sarah (Stuart) Spanks, he was
a retired coal miner.
He was a member of United Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice (Mrs. Cecil Walton)
and Jean (Mrs.
Fraser Burns), both of New Glasgow;
a son, James Lloyd, Trenton;
nine
grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two
half-sisters, Nettie (Mrs. Henry Cameron),
Stellarton; Susan (Mrs. William
Cooke), Guysboro.
His wife, the former Florence Dickie, predeceased him.
The remains are resting at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home,
55 Almond Ave.
The funeral will be held
Thursday at 7 p.m. from the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in Lorne St. Cemetery.
