Eastern Chronicle, New Glasgow, N.S.
Tuesday, 25 December 1906:

Funeral Notice

Mrs. L.C. Stewart, matron at the county Asylum,
died after a lingering illness,
on Saturday morning. The funeral will take place
from Sharon Church, Stellarton,
to Brookside cemetery on Tuesday, Dec.25th
at 2:30 p.m.(service will begin in the church at 2:30 o'clock).
A short service will be held in the Asylum at 2 o'clock,
but on account of the patients it is desirable that the friends
of the deceased lady, who wish to attend the funeral,
will meet at Sharon Church. We feel sure that everybody
will understand the necessity of this arrangement
as the interests of patients in the Asylum
must have first consideration.

Mrs. Stewart was born in Sherbrooke, N.S.,
being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jotham Archibald,
Mrs. Archibald being before her marriage a Miss McDaniel [Elizabeth].
Mrs. L.C. Stewart did good work as matron
in the Asylum being ideally capable of performing the duties
of the position she filled.

She had no family.
The Eastern Chronicle tenders her devoted husband
its profound sympathy on his irreparable loss.
