KINLEY, Mary Lucile - 90, Port Hilford, Guysborough Co.,
died September 15, 1997, in the intensive care unit of
St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Port Hilford, she was a daughter of the late John and Della (Fleming) Kinley.
She attended Acadia University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree.
She followed a teaching career and taught in various schools in
eastern Nova Scotia and, in her final years of teaching,
was employed by the Halifax School Board as a visiting teacher for shut in students.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Halifax, and
an adherent of Port Hilford United Baptist Church.
She was a member of the Baptist Womens Institute of Nova Scotia;
an ardent supporter of many worthwhile charities;
was commended for her efforts as a volunteer and,
along with this full life, was an ardent gardener.
Surviving are sisters, Rev. Josephine (Kinley) Moore,
Isabel (Kinley) MacDonald, Port Hilford;
Kathleen, Halifax;
brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Port Hilford;
John, Oakville, Ont.;
sisters-in-law, Alice and Jessie Kinley;
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Bruce and Edwin.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday,
memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday,
borth in Port Hilford United Baptist Church,
Rev. Archie Leach officiating.
Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Hilford.
Memorial donations to Port Hilford United Baptist Church or any charity.
