FURLONG, James Edward - 92, Port Hillford, Guysborough Co.,
died September 30, 1996, in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital.
Born at Indian Harbour Lake, Guysborough Co.,
he was a son of the late Edward and Caroline (Corneally) Furlong.
He was a member of Port Hillford United Baptist Church.
In his early years he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, Mich.
He was a commercial fisherman and operated his own trucking business in Port Hillford.
Surviving are his wife, the former Charlotte Beatrice Hurst;
sons, Robert Bernard, Lower Sackville;
Joseph Goodman, James Roy, Indian Harbour Lake;
daughters Elizabeth Faye (Mrs. Larry Logan), Dartmouth;
Phyllis June Furlong, Port Hillford;
brother, Percy, Dunnville, Ont.;
12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchilldren;
several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Bernard, Murray, Edwin, Frank;
sisters, Myra Sandford, Blanche Cruickshank.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, both in Port Hillford Baptist Church,
Rev. Ben Hodder officiating.
Burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Donations to St. Mary's Memorial Hospital or any charity.
Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
