Mrs. George H. Hurst

TRURO - Mrs. George H. Hurst, a native of Port Hilford, Guysborough county,
who has been residing with her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Cail, 2 Arthur street,
for the past several years,
passed away on Tuesday evening following a period of poor health.
Mrs. Hurst, who was 66 years of age,
was the daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. James McConnell, Port Hilford.
She spent most of her life in Halifax,
but following the death of her husband in 1944, she had been living with various members of her family.
She was a devout member of the First Baptist church.
She is survived by three daughters, Grace (Mrs. E.T. Cail), Truro;
Eileen (Mrs. J. Marks), Ottawa; and
Ernestine (Mrs. F.L. Such), Hamilton, Ont.;
two sons, M. Douglas Hurst, Halifax; and
L. George Hurst, Canolga Park, California;
one sister, Mrs. David Reid, Port Hilford;
two brothers, A.T. McConnell, West Scarboro, Maine;
and Judson McConnell, St. Mary's River, Guysborough county,
and 13 grandchildren.
The remains are resting at the Christie funeral home here from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m., with Rev. George P. Allen officiating.
Burial will take place at Port Hilford on Friday at 2 p.m.
